2012 Pilot Wins SUV Shootout

AutoPacific has presented the 2012 Honda Pilot with their Ideal Vehicle Award. The national survey revealed that Pilot owners touted driver’s-seat comfort and ride and handling as some of their favorite characteristics.
After a thorough and exhaustive analysis, Cars.com named the Honda Pilot its "Family Car of the Year." While making their decision, the editors at Cars.com took special note of the Pilot's size, roominess, efficiency and versatility: "Parents juggling life, work and multiple kids' soccer teams while trying to maintain a sense of sanity (good luck!) will have a true partner in the Pilot."
The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has named the Pilot a "2012 Top Safety Pick." IIHS rates vehicles good, acceptable, marginal or poor based on performance in front and side crash tests, a rollover test, and evaluations of seat/head restraints for protection against neck injuries in rear impacts. To earn Top Safety Pick for 2012, a vehicle must have good ratings in all four Institute tests.
The 2012 Pilot took the top spot in the "USA Today, MotorWeek and Cars.com $37k and Under SUV Shootout." Seven SUVs and crossovers were tested for three days in the areas of gas mileage, storage, and features and comfort, and the editor-in-chief touted the Pilot as "the perfect SUV for buyers who want to comfortably haul the entire family and all of their gear." Check out the video to learn more about the shootout.
